Everything That Is Wrong With Love Island 2018

Love-Island-logo

Okay so I’m one of those “sad” people that have been watching this years Love Island. Don’t get me wrong, I normally wouldn’t be ashamed of my guilty pleasures but this years season has just been awful! Like, I can’t believe I’ve still sat and watched every episode. Lets all just say what we’re thinking out loud; Love Island hit its peak last year and will never be as great.

  • They’ve taken away the smoking area which I guess is good as it “promoted” smoking but come on! That’s where all the gossip used to take place! Now they can go outside the villa one at a time to smoke.
  • Its reality TV, we all know it’s staged but we don’t like to notice how staged it actually is and this year it’s literally been shoved into our faces. Every evictee has come and mentioned how staged it all is, surely it should be in their contracts not to talk about all that?
  • They don’t really show the “woohoo” moments anymore like Sam and Frankie’s time in the hideaway or anything like that. We’ve pretty much only seen what Megan is up to. If they showed what everyone was doing then Megan wouldn’t have gotten as much hate as she did.
  • Way too much product placement. Its like looking through the Missguided website and not being able to close the page.
  • Adam.
  • The producers and editors have left out way too much. I recently watched a video with loads of cut out footage like games and chats between islanders and honestly they were so funny I don’t get why they didn’t make it to the final cut of the show. It showed the contestants in a different light and showed how funny they actually are.
  • We found out this year that the contestants have a day off where they leave the villa and probably just hang out somewhere else and we miss all the gossip from that. I always thought they had to stay in the villa at all times. What’s next? Big Brother contestants aren’t really in the house the whole time either?
  • They’ve manipulated with the way views vote. What happened to Megan? She literally disappeared off the screen for a few days and turned out not to be most hated anymore. They’ve only been showing people that will get a response from the viewers so the voting goes the way the producers want.
  • Some contestants knew each other from the outside but never mentioned knowing each other. Alexandra has photos with Kaz and Megan!
  • They had the same games, challenges and activities as last season. Come on, get a bit more imaginative.
  • The final week was rushed! In the last few episodes they’ve literally had like a challenge or event each day and the meet the parents episode was the day before the final??!? They should have spread it out a bit more. Why was it so rushed?

All in all I am so disappointed in this years series and I’m sure I’m not the only one!

Non-stop days in London

As you might have noticed my cousin came to visit for a week and I have never been so tired. She arrived just gone midnight on Friday and that’s when our adventure began. Quite a few of you have seen the photographs we uploaded and asked about specific places we went to so I thought why not just do a post about it. My hectic week with Duygu

Friday

As promised I went to greet her at the airport and being the person that I am I made her a sign. Her flight was delayed so whenever passengers came out I held the sign up hoping she would be one. When she finally came out I was folding the sign upside down. Typical. After a few handfuls of pistachios we decided to call it a night and prepared ourselves for the week ahead.

Saturday

Duygu is as basic as me me so everywhere we were planning on visiting was 100% Insta-worthy. Our first stop was Peggy Porschen. We stood in the rain for about an hour taking photos outside and waiting in line to get inside. We could have just taken photos and left like all the other girls but Duygu loves to eat so we were staying for the cake. Our next stop was German Gymnasium by Kings Cross station. If you’ve never been there I highly recommend it and make sure you go to the bathroom and check it out, the aesthetic is on point. We waiting till the rain had slowed down so we could head off to Camden Town because I ruined her last experience there by throwing up. After taking a few photos by the sign she started running through the crowd towards the Chinese food. Just after lunch. It’s safe to say we were exhausted and decided to go home and get into our Missy Empire matching tshirts whist she thought about what she could eat next.

Sunday

After having breakfast we set off into the snow to ride the Emirates cable carts. Luckily the lack of bright sunshine made the lighting in the cart perfect for a few photos. Or a Photoshoot. We then went to the O2 to bowl but the wait was too long so we ended up leaving after Duygu had a go at the VR escape room. Our next stop was the London Eye but to take a cute photo we had to go to Waterloo Bridge. At the point Duygu realised that we had the same clothes on from the previous photos and that just wasn’t acceptable so we swapped. We were planning on going to the aquarium after but the penguins were asleep so we ended up wasting so much money at the arcade in exchange for sweets. For dinner we went to an all you can eat buffet which I personally thought was perfect for her and she literally tried everything.

Monday

Day of rest

Tuesday

We met up after work and the first thing she said to me was that she was starving and hadn’t eaten in an hour. We ended up going to Pizza Pilgrims and she tired her first garlic bread and fell in love. After stuffing our faces we both decided that we needed to do some much needed exercise so we went down to Bounce to play some ping pong. Half an hour later she said she really wanted some chocolate so I introduced her to mini eggs. She then got 3kgs to take back to Turkey with her.

Wednesday

For tis day I had to take annual leave from work. We started off by having a quick breakfast at maccys before actually going for breakfast. Our first stop of the day was Coppa Club by Tower Bridge. I had booked us into their igloos to have breakfast with a view and obviously to do a quick Photoshoot. After breakfast we had a quick stop by the bridge to take a few photos before heading up to Sky Garden. Duygu has a Instagram page where she posts nursery rhymes for kids and whilst we were in the perfect setting we decided to film one there… and did another shoot. I realised that she hadn’t actually done any shopping since being here so we popped into NewLook and my gosh was that a mistake. Nearly two hours later we set off for lunch at the Ivy City and luckily they had space in the conservatory… where we proceeded to take photos. Next up was mini golf. We went into Junkyard Golf and instead of playing one course we played three and it was actually pretty fun! It was getting pretty late when we left and it was clear the Duygu was now ill but this wasn’t going to stop her from running to Softserve Society and grabbing her favourite charcoal icecream.

Thursday

I was fully exhausted and had no plans to see Duygu but she guilt tripped me into seeing her and helping her pack. She had over 5kg of chocolate to take back!

So now she’s gone back and I can go back to not eating and not running around London like crazy. I can’t wait to see her in Istanbul so I can do to her exactly what she did to me.

10 Best reality TV shows to binge

Lets face it, we all secretly love reality TV. The fights, the competitiveness, the pure stupidity of someone. We love to watch other people live.

Keeping up with the Kardashians

kuwtk

Everyone seen at least one episode of this! We’re all fascinated by the Kardashians; literally all of them! When you think theyre getting a bit boring the dad comes out as trans or the brother has a kid with their enemy. So much juice in one show!

Ru Pauls Drag Race

ru

My all time favourite! The drag version of ANTM! Drag queens competing in hilarious tasks and lip sync battles with fabulous catwalks! This show has given us so many great sayings.

Americas Next Top Model

AmericasNextTopModel_Cycle6

The title says it all really. I actually only prefer the early seasons of the show, probably only up to season 10. The best episodes are when its towards the end and the girls get a make over!

Jersey Shore

js

The trashiest of trash with several spin offs. You pretty much watch the cast grow up and slowly start to act normal and less crazy. Lets face it, we’ve all wondered how they went out every night and managed to get to work the next morning without dying.

90 Day Fiancé

Image result for 90 day fiance poster

This show is about long distance couples living together before they get married. Its hilarious to watch because you can clearly see some of these people just want a visa and its just so damn awkward.

Catfish

I absolutely loved the documentary and am obsessed with the show. I just don’t understand how people can fall for someone they’ve never met or spoken to and still get upset when its not the person they assumed it was!

Big Brother

Related image

A group of strangers or celebrities boxed inside a house for a few weeks where we can watch their every move. When it first started along with the hour daily show they had a channel where you could literally watch them 24/7.

Real Housewives

Image result for real housewives poster

There are so many different series to this show from all over the world. The women on there are the most dramatic women I’ve ever seen with the most unrealistic upper class issues and yet I still love it.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo

Related image

The funniest redneck family you’ll ever watch on TV. Honey Boo Boo is so relatable with her witty come backs and sass. You’ll love her and be concerned about her at the same time.

The Simple Life

Image result for the simple life

The show that started it all. Paris Hilton and her then best friend Nicole Richie go and live with various families and work in a number of jobs that they pretty much fail at. Its hilarious to watch and see how much they can actually get away with.

10 “Vintage” shows you need to re-watch right now

Everyone’s always caught up in the newest dramas or sit-coms meaning we easily forget about the old school classics. I like to watch these following series just after I’ve binge watched 8 seasons of something current I’ve found on Netflix. They are all pretty easy going to watch and can actually be really funny. So forget your Black Mirror or Stranger Things and get stuck into these beauties.

My Wife and Kids

I used to absolutely love this show when I was growing up. Laughed through out every episode whilst teaching you the importance of having family values.

Freaks and Geeks

Freaks-and-Geeks

Who doesn’t love a young Seth Rogan and James Franco? You know this show is great because Judd Apatow has worked on it!

Full House

This show is full of catchphrases and family humour. There are a few episodes that get to you when you dive in but they always make sure they end with a laugh. Its about a widowed father looking after his kids with his best friends.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch

sabrina

Lets face it, she made us all wish we had magic powers!

Will and Grace

I cannot wait for this show to come back! Such iconic characters and hilarious storylines.

That 70’s Show

I will never get bored of watching this show! You get to see baby Mila and Ashton get together! Even though the last few seasons are a bit below par the start of it is fantastic.

Sex and the City

**File Photos**

Carrie Bradshaw is the reason I write. I absolutely love this series and the films even if people think the films were terrible. There are so many life lessons you can learn if you watch this.

Malcolm in the Middle

mitm

Yet another family based show with some dark humour thrown in. I only realised this when I watched it all last year, something I never got when I was younger.

Saved by the Bell

Saved by the Bell

We all wanted to go to school with these guys and hang out with them after school! A great 90’s classic.

Seinfeld

se

Im sorry but if you haven’t seen Seinfeld then you need to now or you need to get out of my life. It’s genius and its not just another show with a group of friends and love triangles. There’s just so much more to it plus its hilariously written. Yes some of Jerry’s acting is questionable but that’s what makes him him.

Best places to eat in London (and take cute photos)

As you may all know I am all about that diet life but there are times that I think YOLO and just go out for a meal. Of course when I do decide to eat out I make sure its instagramable! Most of you would have probably heard me speaking about these places or seen photos or been lucky enough to come to them with me but for those who have no idea below is a list of places that I think are the best to go to in London.

The Swan

I went here with the accounts team when I worked at Mathys so I have no idea if its affordable or not. It took a while for the food to arrive but it was so worth the wait. Its right next to the Globe so you have a great view of the river as you eat.

I recommend: Herbed New Potatoes

Coppa Club

A few times a year Coppa Club either have igloos or cabanas built on their terrace facing the fiver and I always make sure I go. The food is affordable and yummy and it makes for a cute instagram photo be it if your in an igloo with fur throws or a cabana covered in lavender.

I recommend: Coppa Club Hot Pizza

Soft Serve Society

The best ice-cream in town! Its in boxpark so its tiny but its amazing. the staff are lovely and let you try all the strange flavours before you buy.

I recommend: Charcoal Soft Serve with Candyfloss

Meat Mission

img_1799.jpg

Now, this is my all time favourite place! Its hidden away on the back streets of Hoxton Square and its very dark inside but my gosh the food is delicious. You share a table with strangers and eat off a tray but that’s what makes it great.

I recommend: Dirty Chicken Cheese Burger

German Gymnasium

Don’t worry, its not a gym. Its actually a really nice restaurant by Kings Cross. I would suggest siting outside with the heaters on and watching people play on the swing and reunite outside the station.

I recommend: GG Burger

We Are Bar

img_1798

Okay this place is actually a bar but they also serve really nice to die for food and you can order it and sit on the terrace with heating  avoiding all the people that are drinking.

I recommend: Hellumi Fries

The Happenstance

This is where I had me welcome meal with Venner Shipley and its a Drake & Morgan franchise. The whole atmosphere of the place is beautiful and the service is great.

I recommend: Buttermilk Chicken Burger

The Ivy City Garden

This place is so aesthetically pleasing that you’ll spend most of your time taking photos. They have a huge range of food on their menu and its actually pretty affordable. I would suggest booking as its pretty busy.

I recommend: Fish & Chips

The Bach

If you’re into the whole Acai bowl healthy eating life this is the place for you. The interior of this place is like a little beach house with fake grass if you wish to sit outside.

I recommend: House Made Gluten Free Granola

10 Ways to unwind

Life can be stressful at times especially when its cold and dark outside. As much as I love winter I think that it really does bring everybody’s mood down. Below are my favourite ways to cheer myself up and to unwind after a stressful winters day at work.

Vinyl’s. I love listening to vinyl’s, be it old albums or fairly new ones. I would highly recommend Ben Howard.

Candles. Not so much tea lights but those big nice smelling ones. You know, The ones that come in a jar or something.

Walk. I find that going for a walk with no destination in mind really helps me relax and stop stressing.

Tea. Get yourself a giant mug and fill it with your favourite herbal tea. Mine is Snooze from Teapigs.

Meditation. Find yourself 10 minutes in your day to sit down and meditate. Getting out of your head honestly helps so much.

Facemask. If you know me then you know that I love a good facemask. They make your skin feel so refreshed and gets rid off all your toxins.

Bath. I find that having a nice hot bath with some bath salts makes me feel better after a long day. Try adding some dried lavender and bubbles to make it really therapeutic.

Poetry. Reading a full on book can sometimes be too much when you just want to unwind so I much prefer poetry.

Blankets. Pop a blanket in the dryer and then take it out and cuddle up to it when its nice and hot.

Swings. Take a trip to your local park, put in your earphones and swing. As high as you can go.

Things to do Between Christmas and New Years

I know its a first world problem but unless you have to go to work there is pretty much nothing to do to keep yourself entertained between Christmas and New Years. So below are a few ideas of some ways you can keep yourself occupied for the next few days.

– Make a giant cup of hot chocolate topped with everything! Whipped Cream, marshmallows, flake… all the calories you can think of. Don’t forget to take a photo of it and upload it to your Instagram either!

– Do a Puzzle. a nice 1000 piece beauty, its the best way to waste time.

-Start a new series. You don’t need to worry about how late its gotten or how many episodes you’ve watched in a day because you literally have nothing else to do. Plus you get the satisfaction of watching something start to end without forgetting parts of the storyline.

-Go to Ikea. Redesign your home in your head and leave with just some candles and glasses.

-Do a few exercises in your living room that you found on YouTube. Don’t wait till January.

-Cinema and Nandos. Lets face it, you need to get out the house but you still want to feel relaxed and like you’re chilling at home.

-Have a clear out of your room and make space for all your new Christmas presents.

-Watch ALL the Harry Potter films back to back because everyone needs to do this at least once I their life.

10 Instagram accounts you need to follow

As you may have noticed I’m a huge fan of Instagram. However as I don’t follow many people other than my friends I would say that my top 10 accounts are actually really good accounts! Take a look and you’ll see what I mean, all are so aesthetically pleasing.

Travel_inhershoes

I have followed Aggie for years now and she provides the best travel inspo and thanks to her I have discovered more than a few great accounts!

Lisahomsy

Another great traveller and she’s super nice. Always happy to help and replied to all her messages.

Mvandersluis

I found Mel through Lisa and she’s honestly so funny and carefree. Her mum is in a few of her stories and she is equally hilarious.

Rachmartino

I found Rachel through Noelle who is listed below and instantly became obsessed. She’s so cute and funny and to top it all off she has great style.

Shaymitchell

One of the only two celebrities I follow, Shay has a great feed full of travel and fashion inspo.

Andreaantoniou_

The best personal trainer! She uploads tips and videos of how to and how not to do specific exercises. Plus her stories are hilarious.

Meliskrem

I absolutely love Mel. I’ve known her for years and decades now and her feed is always so aesthetically pleasing and on trend. You can also always find a discount for all your favourite stores under her photos.

Tinkertailoronline

I met Antonia in her store and she is so lovely and it’s great that she posts photos of her home with the stuff she sells in the store so if there’s something I like I can just pop into her shop.

Your_passport

The nicest travel blogger I’ve ever spoken to! Always there to help me decide where to go next and what photo to post. She’s so interactive with her followers.

Noelledowning

Noelle. She is just life goals. I am in love with her apartment and style and just how body positive she is.

10 Guilty pleasures

Okay. Let’s start with I’m sorry. I know I missed my Saturday post but my weekend was so busy! Now that the poor apology is over please enjoy my list of guilty pleasures and let me know yours!

Kardashians. I follow all of them on social media and own some of their beauty products. I even have Kim’s selfie book which is displayed on a shelf in my room.

Cold chicken balls. I least order extra chicken balls whenever I have Chinese but I like to leave them to get cold and I eat them the following morning.

Ru Paul’s drag race. I love the show like most people but o can go hours just by watching their lip sync battles and skits on YouTube. I even have their albums and listen to them on my way to work.

Cheese bites. I’ve been on and off diets for a while now and when I’m off my favourite things to snack on are cheese bites from McDonald’s.

Mamma Mia. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen this film. I know it’s terrible but I love it and can’t stop myself from singing along.

Stationary. I’m just so happy around stationary. I love buying a new notebook or pen and just looking at it for weeks without actually using it.

Netflix. I am more than happy to cancel plans and stay in bed all day and find a food series to watch and finish the same evening.

Jenna Marbles. She posts new videos weekly and after every post I watch I go back and watch her older stuff for the next hour.

Knitting. I find it so therapeutic and we all know that I’m actually 73 years old so o don’t need to explain myself.

Dog clothes. I love dressing my little ones up. They’ve gotten so used to it that if I take off a jumper they will try to put it back on.
